Boys pick up first trophy

The SA Boys picked up the first of a potential three trophies as they beat the NZ U17 team 8-5 in a match which was strewn with errors by both sides and in which only good defence on the man-down saved the SA team. Two players ended up with three majors and a number of others visited the corner in a physical encounter.

Goal scorers for the South Africans were Brad Pepler (2), Choc Malan (2), Nick Rodda (3) and Nick Schooling.
